You don’t sound like him with either axe dude.. He’s played that song on a Strat before in his other band. It wouldn’t have mattered because he’d sound bad ass with either guitar.. also that strat of Steve’s like all Lynyrd Skynyrds equipment was an object of theft, thats why Workin for the MCA was written, and that’s when Steve grabbed the black Les Paul… 😂

its a great cover but for a song that is very complex with open strings, slides, chord changes, etc., youre not giving us ANY fret numbers or anything guidance whatsoever. It's really frustrating.

I have been searching for 3 yrs for this, forever when I googled this really nothing on this level of instruction. I always wondered how Ed did this, I could sit for hrs and never come close. Thanks for posting this I spend many hrs with this !

Yes sir you I’m in agreement with 100%. Have fun with it. That’s the prescription for the day. This song has a deep meaning for me which I won’t go into but this is one I’ve got to, I will, learn. It’s definitely a powerful piece that I’m sure has been used many many times since it came out, as a life preserver kinda a life vest so to speak to throw out from the boat to someone that’s drowning. As we used to say, you get my drift. I’m very glad I happened across your platform. Yes I’m subscribed with a thumb up.

Scott, this is how I always heard it and how I always played it with the open E’s and open A’s, but when Gary plays it live, he does F, F#, G and A#, B, C. Don’t know why he does it this way because that’s not the way it is on the record! Have you ever noticed that?

So far you are the only one who plays this right. Gary Rossington used the hybrid style of picking in a lot of their songs, which gave them a unique sound that is challenging to duplicate.

Collins was great.

The crossover is the point at which the bass and treble are divided (assuming all you have are Bass and Treble). 43Hz would be a very low crossover. Essentially, everything above 43Hz goes to the treble circuit. So in this case you be sending very little to the bass circuit. Basically :)
